About

Prizewinner at international competitions in Salzburg, Paris, and Łódź, Lucas was awarded by the São Paulo State Government as one of Brazil’s most outstanding young musicians. He has performed in over 20 countries worldwide, including venues such as the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Philharmonie (Berlin), and Musikverein (Vienna), and festivals like Chigiana (Italy); Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Rheingau Musik Festival (Germany); and Mozartwoche (Austria).

 

Lucas made his solo debut during the European tour of the Japan Youth Orchestra, with concerts at the Musikverein in Vienna and in Budapest. He is currently a member of Trio Callas, a guest player with Camerata Salzburg, and the director of the apARTE Festival in Rio de Janeiro.

 

Born in the countryside of São Paulo, Lucas grew up near Tokyo, where he began his first cello lessons. He currently lives in Austria and studies at Mozarteum University Salzburg under Enrico Bronzi. He was the last student of Antonio Meneses and has also been mentored by Mischa Maisky, Sol Gabetta, Steven Isserlis.
